Tie Blog 2

So now that I am completely finished with my voicethread project I have some time to reflect on what I have learned. First off I think that the voicethread idea is a very neat site. It is a great way for educators to communicate via lessons and to share ideas. My students were very excited that they would be on the internet whether it be just their comments or not. This lead to my lesson being a lot more engaging than some of my others. I did have some issues with this assignment at first but soon worked out the kinks and made it work. I think that in the long run  I am better for doing this assignment.  I have learned even more so through this lesson that as educators we must be flexible because not everything always goes our way. I am very satisfied with what I have worked on and my finished product. I am looking forward to seeing what you all think as well! I love feedback! So with that I will ask my peers to possibly answer these questions:

1. What other ways could I have implemented the voicethread into this lesson that would have been a bit more intriguing for my students?

2. How could I implement this lesson into another subject area?

3. What were your favorite parts of this lesson? I love feedback!

Voice Thread

I have finally uploaded my voicethread! Unfortunately I had to create my own account because the other accounts were full but I got it done! My students had some interesting things to say about the lesson and it was overall a great experience in the classroom! This was one of my favorite lessons!

The Worst Lesson Which I Have Ever Taught!

So the entire semester I have been blogging about how I planned on doing my voicethread lesson on the topic of the 1st Thanksgiving and do a readers theatre to go along with it. Well with that said all I can say is that best plans of mice and men! This turned out to be a disaster of a lesson eventhough I put much time and effort into the outcome. I thought it would go great but my class was not as impressed. I was greeted with boredom and lack of cooperation. And then in the end my video died right before my reader's theatre was over! So I am gathering my eggs once again to start over and on Tuesday teach a lesson on the civilization of the Ancient Egyptians and include a powerpoint for the students to provide commentary on as well as think sheets which they will answer following our discussions. The questions that I will ask are going to be higher order thinking skills such as: Compare the life of the Ancient Egyptians to life today in our society. What are some simmilarities and differences. Once finished I will upload my finished product to voicethread and my documents to google docs and onto here! Here is hoping for success the 2nd go around! Until then Bon Voyage!

I am going to be doing a reader's theatre about the first Thanksgiving with my 3rd grade class at Schanen Estates Elementary. I am very excited about this as is my CT, Ms. Rhamy. We will most likely be doing this the week before Thanksgiving break!
